Lady Arakido is the latest addition to our LAVAGRL collection, a series of colorful, abstracted, pop art portraits of interesting women.
Reclaimed sheet aluminum has been hand cut and hand hammered into this one of a kind wall art piece. The painting curves from the wall with fascinating dimensionality, and her face is gently indented within the construct.
This original painting was created in a palette that is bold yet subtle, in soft colors that push against each other with quiet drama. Her face is a rich olive green with ocher shading and minty-teal highlights. A subtle dab of navy serves as the darkest accent, with a pale blue forming surreal reflections on her lip, nose, cheekbones and eyelid.
Her ‘hair’ is a tender mix of light dusty orange, cool pink, and beige with creamy highlights. Click on the photos to view them at full resolution and you’ll see how all of the color fields are finely outlined in a similar shade that blends with the art while providing order to the composition.

Shipping
◾️ Your art will be securely protected with cardboard, bubble wrap and packing paper, sent with tracking and insurance. When we can, we like to reuse and recycle shipping boxes and materials.
◾️ We will ship to the address on your receipt, please make sure the information is up to date when placing your order.
◾️ If an item is damaged in shipping, you must contact us right away. Provide photos of the item and original packaging, and we will work together to initiate a claim with the shipper.
Care instructions
◾️ Display your art piece indoors and out of direct sunlight.
◾Dust occasionally with a feather duster or dry cloth. If the piece needs actual cleaning, don’t submerge it in water or use harsh cleansers — slightly dampen a lint-free cloth or soft sponge with plain water and gently wipe the surface of the art and air dry. Anything more critical, contact us with a description and photos and we’ll try to guide you!
